Facts To Know About Pet Urine in Your Carpet
Urine deposited on carpet does not stay on the surface. It easily penetrates the carpet fibers and contaminates both the backing of the carpet and the flooring material below your carpet.
Often, without even knowing, pets will continually urinate in the same general location. Urine odors can permeate from the floor, whether cement or wood, to the tack strip, and even to the framework of your house behind the walls.
As urine dries, the liquid evaporates but the urine crystals become even more concentrated and pungent.
Simple surface cleaning does not remove urine odor. Chem-Dry recognized the need and developed a special formula to help! When P.U.R.T.® contacts the source of the odor, it immediately begins a chemical reaction and destroys urine odor and bacteria.
UV Light and Pet Stains
It is the worst coming home from a long work day and having to clean up a new pet stain. However, what’s even worse is not knowing where past accidents have taken place or how to find them. Urine odors can be very strong and it can be difficult to find the source of the smell. Included with our pet stain removal service, Chem-Dry uses a special UV light.
This enables us to detect trouble areas in your home and eliminate pet urine stains and odors from your carpets, rugs, and upholstery. P.U.R.T. contacts the source of the odor and immediately begins a chemical reaction that destroys the pet urine odor. It’s shown excellent results on even the most severely damaged areas. This makes Chem-Dry of Crawford and Sebastian County a trusted source for pet urine removal carpet cleaning in the Forth Smith area.
How P.U.R.T.® Works
We know you care a lot about your pets and we care a lot about your carpet. In order to achieve the best results possible, we don’t cut any corners. Our pet stain removal in Fort Smith works to naturally pull the stain and odor from the carpet and prevent reappearing stains and odors. Remember, when dealing with a pet accident, act fast! It’s better to take care of the problem as soon as you can.
- The source and severity of the odor are determined, then the carpet will be rinsed and extracted with a hot water rinse to remove the bulk of the urine crystals.
- In worst cases, the carpet is pulled back in the suspected areas to reveal the extent of the damage.*
- If necessary, the pad will be removed and replaced.*
- An odor blocking shellac may be applied to the sub-floor if determined necessary.*
- P.U.R.T.® will then be applied heavily to the tack strip, the sub floor, the baseboards, and the carpet backing. It is necessary to apply this product heavily enough to dampen all areas affected by the urine.*
- Over the next 24 to 36 hours, the ingredients in P.U.R.T.® will react with the urine, and break down the odor-causing components.
*Additional charges based on your unique situation may apply.
